WE ASKED OUR REGULARS
TO WEIGH IN ON THEIR
RENO WISH LISTS.
Lisa Murphy: “I would love to renovate both
bathrooms — put in pocket doors to increase
space, install a soaker tub and gorgeous
hardware. A hatbox toilet would be nice.”
A born-and-bred Torontonian, Lisa lives with her
husband and two children in a 1925 semi, where
she writes for magazines including Today’s Parent
and More. In this issue, she penned “Industrial
Revelation” (page 84).
Angus McRitchie: “My bedroom. Its current
style is monastic — white, minimalist. A glass
of water by the bed is the only nod to luxury.
Perhaps I need something softer?”
The Australian-born photographer relocated to
Montreal five years ago, where, for this issue, he
shot “Profile” (page 28), “City Living” (page 46) and
“Industrial Revelation” (page 84). Angus’s images also
appear in Vogue Living and Monocle magazines.

Ellen Himelfarb: “We’ve just reno’d our house,
except for the main bathroom. It already has all
the mod-cons, but was done in such bad taste,
it’s difficult to enjoy the luxury.”
A freelance writer who lives in London, England, with
her family, Ellen is never far from her native Toronto.
“It’s my spiritual home,” says the wordsmith, who
also writes for the Globe and Mail. In this issue,
she penned “City Living” (page 46).
