Bold, almost tribal wallpaper
by British decorator David Hicks
sets a playfully dramatic tone in
Cinnie (opposite, with daughter Olivia)
and J.D. Segsworth’s living room.
The striking pattern is based on a
17th-century Portuguese document.
In reworking the house, designer
Timothy Mather bulked up the
out-of-proportion fireplace with
extra trim and coated it in white
to establish it as a strong
architectural element and leaven
the pink and chocolate palette.
